Nahid Alaei (Ms) is the director and founder of StepChange Business Solutions Ltd and StepChange Procurement Solutions Ltd, based in London, UK. Nahid Alaei is a business executive and public services consultant. She founded StepChange Procurement Solutions Ltd in July 2013. Her work and business aims to deliver public services through public private partnership and advisory approach. Nahid has worked with the UK national and local bodies since 2000. She worked with a number of local authorities to include but not limited to Croydon Council and Lambeth Council, supporting, enabling and delivery portfolios of social care and health, and integrated care services.

Her core areas of expertise are transformation, commissioning and procurement. Her focus has mainly been with Adult and Children Social Care and Housing Management.

During the course of the last few years, Nahid has head the commissioning, review, delivery or management of a third party spend portfolio of up to £400m spend per year.

Nahid is an experienced strategic commercial, transformation and operational lead with continuously developing track record of systems transformation, procurement /programs and portfolio management in UK Local Government Corporate Services, Adult Social Care, Children Social Care, Health and Housing Management and sound working knowledge of private commercial and voluntary sectors.

She is a focused and aspiring leader, highly capable of assessment and analysis of the organisational needs to design services, enable partnership working, and deliver and embed business/cultural changes, savings and outcomes. Nahid operates in senior level and enables high performing teams. She is passionate about making a difference, leading and enabling innovation and change through commissioning and cross sector collaboration to achieve results, savings and outcomes.

Earlier Experience

In 2010 Nahid took part in a nationwide competition LGA Challenge seeking to find candidates who can be developed into the future chief executives of Local Government. This was enabled by LGA (Local Government Association ).

In 2009 Nahid managed the project working on behalf of the TFL, Lotag HMSG, London Authorities and the Highways Agency. The project was a success for London authorities, enabling EU directives in the field and was promoted by national and regional Centres of Excellence.

This project achieved a commendation for Lambeth Council by the MJ (Municipal Journal). This project was then supported by a number of other highways and transport projects including Londonwide CDM coordinators project.

Credentials

Nahid has a BA degree in English Translation. She studied a Post Graduate Diploma in Law in 2001-2002 with BPP Law School, although she did not qualify as a lawyer. Nahid also completed a number of other vocational courses with Lambeth Council, Lambeth and Westminster colleges and with the APM. She is PRINCE2 and MSP qualified and has a BTEC degree in TV Journalism from Westminster College. Her professional expertise is mainly work related experience and vocational courses.

Nahid is a member of APM, Institute of Directors, Institute of Purchasing and Supplies, and previous student member of The Law Society of England and Wales.
